It's long over due that David McCallum got his Knighthood
How many people would agree with me that it's long over due that David McCallum was given his Knighthood in the Queen's new years Honours list for 2014.
Sir David McCallum has a nice ring to it.David McCallum in the 1960's shot to fame in the TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. where he played a Russian Spy Illya Kuryakin.
He co-starred with Robert Vaughn who played Napoleon Solo. and also starred Leo G. Carroll as Alexander Waverley who was head of U.N.C.L.E.'s operations
There were endless battles with T.H.R.U.S.H. who wanted to take over the world and rule it a bit like spectre or smersh who were trying to bump of James Bond 007 and take over the world.
Unlike the short career of Sean Connery as James Bond 007 . David McCallum's career playing Illya Kuryakin was in fact longer and spurned 9 films and David McCallum.
Has went onto play in various number of TV series the invisible man and not to forget Coldiz and he is currently starring in the CBS TV series NCIS.
As an ambassador for Scotland he has done very well indeed as in my view he deserves a Knighthood than Sir Sean Connery ever did and the only Sean Connery shot to fame.
Was by playing James Bond who was a womaniser and while Napoleon Solo flirted with the ladies .poor Illya Kuryakin was left doing all the work
David McCallum is a fine Scotsman which is something Sean Connery will never be and I am sure that if David McCallum was able to vote in next years.
Referendum on Independence I am sure that he would be encouraging people to vote yes .
A David McCallum Fan
